| What will I learn? | The principle aim of this art is to develop practical self defence skills in the practitioner. |
| What do I need to start? | Initially you need a pair of track suit bottoms and a t-shirt if you decide to continue you will eventually need a Gi (white pyjamas). These are available from your instructor at good rates. |
| How much will it cost? | Your first lesson is free. Thereafter a class is just £5.00 for adults and £3.00 for students. You will be required to join the association for insurance purposes and this costs only £16.00 a year. |
| Do I need to be fit? | You need to be reasonably healthy but you don’t need to be an athlete. Although all classes begin with a warm up these are designed to reduce the risk of injury not to turn you red in the face. |
| Will I get hurt? | We hope not. Self defence does obviously have contact and as with all contact activities there is the risk of accidental injury. These are kept to a minimum by sensible training. |
| Do you have gradings? | Yes we grade our members from white belt through to black. The minimum requirement time to black belt is approximately three years six months. Although you will have attended for this period and been taught to a high standard your grading is down to your ability. |
